Trip to Chandni Chowk

Yesterday i had to go to Chandni Chowk (the moonlit market as the name suggests) to buy some equipments for school. Chandni chowk is the oldest market in Old Delhi. I really like the different architecture there. The old mixing with the new. According to Wikipedia, this market was built by Shah Jahan and designed  by his daughter Jahan Ara.

Broken to be set free

Yesterday our amazing art group came together. We call it art time. It’s a place in our busy schedule  where we forget other things and paint together. For me this has been like oasis…ok I am being a wee bit dramatic. I have always found these times inspiring and have created cool things.
This time was a bit different as we created together not just on our individual creations. First thing we did was rip part the collage we created the last time we were together.  Which was hard on us as we came to love what we created. After ripping it apart we put it together , like a puzzle pieces. Then we created a bigger collage.
This was a wonderful process where we had to sacrifice something we enjoyed and loved but we gave that up to create something even more beautiful and powerful. Just amazing.
If you look closely at the picture you can see torn bits of The Lion Of Judah.

All our collage ripped apart.
attempt to put it together

Writing over the combined collage.

The writing says: This is Jacob the generation of those who seek your face Oh Lord

The Lion of Judah

The picture has not come out so well. Too much reflection on it .
This is a collage made with bits of magazine paper and acrylic colour.
When I finished making this collage...it made me think of God's greatness...made me think of the big universe that God created. Totally awestruck.
