New tag: my art work

I have put up some art work that I have done over the 2 years. There are more to come...more watercolours  paintings.
It was fun figuring out how to create a new page. I am learning so much.
Here is a picture of me chilling at home with super warm slipper given to me by a good friend( Jess). I love them and I am wearing them all the time.

Journey

What a journey it has been so far. I am so overwhelmed by God's love, his mercies and relationships in my life. I am so blessed. Something that I could only dream about has come true. =)
I am hoping to write more from now on. Even just put up picture on everyday life. That something I have been wanting to do for a while now.

Here are some pictures I took today:

This is where I usually work---my desk

Goal

I have realized that I need to set goals especially if I want to keep developing myself. I get busy with everyday activity that I forget to do other things that I enjoy.
I love painting. Its something that I started doing in 2010. It was all because an artist (Katie) came over and stay at my place. I saw her sketch books and I wanted to paint as well. She has been such an inspiration to me.
I was not painting as much as I use to when I started. So now I have set a goal to paint at least once in a week. I thought to share this....maybe this would help someone else.

Listen

Its been a while since I last wrote here. I wanted to show a painting that I made few weeks ago. Its on a tiny canvas using acrylic paints. I really enjoyed painting this picture. When I look at it, feels like the birds are listening to each other. Something very peaceful and calm about it.

Broken to be set free

Yesterday our amazing art group came together. We call it art time. It’s a place in our busy schedule  where we forget other things and paint together. For me this has been like oasis…ok I am being a wee bit dramatic. I have always found these times inspiring and have created cool things.
This time was a bit different as we created together not just on our individual creations. First thing we did was rip part the collage we created the last time we were together.  Which was hard on us as we came to love what we created. After ripping it apart we put it together , like a puzzle pieces. Then we created a bigger collage.
This was a wonderful process where we had to sacrifice something we enjoyed and loved but we gave that up to create something even more beautiful and powerful. Just amazing.
If you look closely at the picture you can see torn bits of The Lion Of Judah.

All our collage ripped apart.
attempt to put it together

Writing over the combined collage.

The writing says: This is Jacob the generation of those who seek your face Oh Lord

The Lion of Judah

The picture has not come out so well. Too much reflection on it .
This is a collage made with bits of magazine paper and acrylic colour.
When I finished making this collage...it made me think of God's greatness...made me think of the big universe that God created. Totally awestruck.

Watercolour watermelon

This is a painting that I did in the month of June with my friend. It was super relaxing. Tried to give a dreamy look. =)

Sunflower - Watercolour Demo - Joanne Boon Thomas

I have really enjoyed watching this video today....super inspired to paint. Watercolours are so much fun.

Negative space painting

This is an acrylic painting, which was great fun to paint. I am not so use to painting with acrylic, so this was good way to get use to it. I think I painted it around the end of last year. I was learning about negative space.
